"Let us live like flowers; wild and beautiful, and drenched in sun"

Updated: Feb 2

The Station Master's garden has been revived - and what a transformation!

In September we had a busy weekend clearing the overgrown shrubs from the front of the house. This was a big job as we hadn't realised how huge the roots would be. Luckily we had some strong helping hands to assist! Unfortunately, the old wooden fence had become rotten over time so that also had to be removed.

We had a lovely new picket fence installed in November, and some fresh top soil delivered ready for planting.

With help from our expert gardener Kathy, from Fine Gardening Heswall, we took a trip to Premier Plants of Ledsham and chose a wide variety of plants and flowers.

We were determined to maintain a traditional look, in-keeping with the 1950's style of the station which is why we decided on an "English Garden" theme. We planted the new shrubs along with lots of pretty bulbs which will begin to bloom in March.

We are really pleased that we are able to contribute towards the improvements at the station and we can't wait to see the new and revived garden in bloom!
